OK, you can’t really call this hidden, just a smart way to camouflage what it is, or present something it wasn’t meant to be. In most Indian banquets you will spot such vegetable based decorations, which I find fascinating, though I haven’t tried making any myself yet. How about you?

  1. John who was the cook (I hesitate to use the word chef!) at the flying club used to carve flowers out of carrots to embelish his curries. Woe betide anyone who ate the ‘club’ carrot 😉 Nice take on the subject.

    • Thanks Martin, I’ve seen carrot and radish based flowers too…they look pretty when shaded with a bit of color from a beetroot too!

  2. It`s a very beautiful post that`s all i can say thanks for sharing

  3. At our local Chinese restaurant the owner undertakes himself to carve the decorations from carrots, daikon, other radishes — most impressive. But do not eat!
