I have lost patience with the stories I guess, so instead of mythology, let me tell you about the Elephant-Head God that paid a visit to my building. Like most other housing societies in Mumbai, mine too brings an idol of the God with a lot of pomp and fanfare. However, the joy is short-lived as the immersion of the idol happens in just two days. It is said that any idol brought home to fulfill a wish should be immersed in water once its work it done. Too bad a ritual, but its a tradition that needs to be followed without breaks.

  1. Very colorful photo. Too bad about the immersion piece.

  2. wonderful great RED page!

  3. Maybe not-clinging is part of the ritual —
Trusting in Ganesha for next time as well?

    • Ya when the ritual does happen, you’d find peple chanting that as we send you back home to heaven, promise us you’d return soon the following year
