Time is fleeting …Act Today

Do not pursue the past.
Do not lose yourself in the future.
The past no longer is.
The future has not yet come.
Looking deeply at life as it is.

In the very here and now, the practitioner dwells in stability and freedom.
We must be diligent today.
To wait until tomorrow is too late.
Death comes unexpectedly.
How can we bargain with it?

The sage calls a person who knows how to dwell in mindfulness night and day,
‘one who knows the better way to live alone.’

  1. A beautiful image!!!!!!
To western eyes (at least these western eyes) this has a kinship with Gothic stained glass windows —

    • i didn’t notice that….we have been to 2 monasteries in India….but i haven’t seen true Gothic art ever in my life….now i am curious!

  2. I loved reading the post. It is so true that most are regretfull of something past and worried about the future that there is no time to enjoy the present. Living in the present and doing something positive things while in it will create great pasts and promising futures! Thanks for sharing!
