This is a leaf of (and still on) the Aapta tree. I have never really seen a thriving and green one yet, as it is a Maharashtrian tradition of exchanging its dry leaves (they call it “Sona” or golden leaves) as symbol of gold to wish loved ones prosperity and fortune on the Vijay Dashmi or Dushera day. The festivities are reserved to the 10th day of Navratri, where we celebrate the triumph of good over evil. It’s a very beautiful tradition, it gives you an opportunity to get rid of malice and wish well for some one you truly cherish.
